About

When reading a good book the pages can flip by fast. We read every word, take in every detail, and become wrapped up in the story. We like a good story, but what if we don’t care about something in the story? What if we think details in the book aren’t important? The Bible was written with many different literary styles – from narrative, historical to parables, poetry, songs, even apocalyptic. All these genres might not be your favorites. But, if you’re into the story, why would you skip large sections, names, details, and move on to another page?

So, if we’re being honest, there are parts of the Bible a majority of people would say are boring. These verses aren’t held onto, memorized, or decorate the walls of Christian homes. Have these parts of the Bible always felt boring to everyone throughout time hearing these passages? Or, is something different about these parts of God’s Word and our lives today? If God’s not boring, why would what He says be boring?

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (English Standard Version)

All means ALL, right? There are some parts of the Bible we don’t like to read. Here are perhaps some of those parts, for you to read.
